A Few Examples of Factory Scheduled Maintenance
We work on most makes and models, but one commonality between all vehicles is that the manufacturer specifies service points and intervals. Some automakers name the service schedules (For instance, Maintenance X should occur at x time/miles and include xx service points.), while others simply provide a list or table of what should be done and when. The factory’s scheduled maintenance requirements will be presented in your owner’s manual regardless of format or title. Required services include oil and filter changes, fluid checks/replacements, brake inspections/new pads, tune-ups, air filter exchange, belt/hose checks/changes, etc. Safety equipment is also checked periodically and repaired as needed. This includes windshield wipers and lights (headlights, tail/brake lights, and turn signals). Depending on your particular model’s features, other service points may also be available. For instance, if you operate a four-wheel drive, your vehicle will also need maintenance for that system. Further, these examples apply to all autos powered solely by an internal combustion engine. It will need the same services for its downsized engine and electrical power plant if you drive a hybrid. If you own an all-electric vehicle, you’ll still need to attend to factory-scheduled maintenance, but the services will differ.
Your Dealership Alternative
Dealerships are great, particularly if you’re in the market for a new automobile. We’re not discrediting them at all. However, it’s not always convenient or cost-effective to drive into the city and return to the dealership for every service you need. Fortunately, you don’t have to. M1 Auto Repair is your local dealership alternative. We hold ourselves to a higher standard than other service providers. Not only are our technicians certified, but all mechanics have a minimum of 15 years of experience. Also, once we service your auto, we road-test it and check it again to be sure nothing is loose, leaking, etc. When it’s time for your vehicle’s factory scheduled maintenance, bring it to us. We’re open Monday through Friday, 9:00 m-5:00 pm, but you can also drop off or pick up at alternative times.
