Some of the problems are quick fixes and relatively easy and inexpensive to do while other problems require deeper testing and more complex repairs. Usually, the diagnostic process starts with a quick analysis, such as: can you hear the fan working, is the air coming through the vents, and is the air cold? The answers to these questions will guide our experienced technicians, and they will check the appropriate components within your air conditioning system. Common causes for AC systems problems include refrigerant leaks, compressor issues (which regulate and move the refrigerant), clogged filters, radiator trouble, and inadequate charge within the system.

Car Air Conditioning Components

Fixing your air conditioning system typically takes between three to five hours, and having the right diagnostic tools can make the process go much more quickly. Knowing what to look for and knowing the order in which to test the different components also speeds up the process. Your AC system has four main components: a compressor, a condenser, an evaporator, and a blower. These parts are all managed by your climate control system, which tells them when to switch on and off. Sometimes, a belt or fuse may need to be changed, the refrigerant needs to be added, the system needs to be charged, or a filter needs to be unclogged. Other times, a more complex repair may need to be made, such as identifying and repairing a refrigerant leak in the system or replacing an entire part.
